Our People
The people of Tyrone, Pennsylvania have a proud papermaking history. Our mill began operations in 1880, and operated contiguously until 2001, when it was unexpectedly shuttered by MeadWestvaco. Led by a group of local community investors, the mill was purchased and restarted in 2003 under the name of American Eagle Paper Mills. The rebirth of the mill brought vital jobs and economic sustainability back to the Tyrone community. The mill currently employs 240 experienced papermakers, many who have worked at the mill for decades. We have been able to grow our team by adding paper converting operations and by expanding our warehouse and distribution facility. Our private, community based owners, along with our leadership team, continue to invest in the mill, positioning it for long term competitive and sustainable operations for decades to come.
