American Eagle Paper Mills is a very unique mill in North America. We produce a variety of fine paper products in an environmentally friendly way. Decades ago the mill produced its own pulp from trees. Today it relies on and creates a market for recovered papers that are challenging to recycle. The products we make are part of your communications in every day life. Some of these products are magazine mailers, envelopes, and other advertising media. The type of paper that customers purchase also communicates a message. It is important to know that products made by American Eagle Paper Mills for everyday use are produced in an environmentally responsible way. We purchase thousands of tons of recovered fiber. Some of the recovered fiber that we use comes from misprinted coffee cups, ice cream containers, magazines, undelivered mail, and catalogs. These are all part of the furnish that goes into American Eagle paper grade line. The world class recycling equipment at the mill and the experience of the paper makers is a combination that is producing quality products that the market needs without the use of a bleaching system. Our products are considered to be process chlorine free. American Eagle is the only mill in the country that has the ability to separate poly from fiber to make commercial printing paper grades. The process of separating poly/plastic from fiber involves high consistency pulping, followed by a series of perforated and slotted screens with progressively smaller hole and slot openings. The company also incorporates forward and reverse cleaning and a deinking process, which uses a proprietary, environmentally friendly chemistry. There is a diligent effort on the part of the ownership to be good stewards of the environment. Recycling is a way of life for this mill. Residual plastics from our process are recycled into composite lumber; residual fiber is used in coal mine restoration or recycled again into other recycled paper products.
